Memphis Interfaith Hospitality Network
Known as MIHN
Ellendale has been asked to help Decatur Trinity in hosting MIHN families
for three weeks out of the year for a week at a time.
They have the facilities, but need help in getting volunteers to stay
overnight and then groups or individuals who provide and
serve meals during the week. It is a great opportunity to work with
churches in our community and help displaced families. We
need a person who would be the coordinator and work with Decatur Trinity
and members of Ellendale. If you feel that this is something you would
like to do, please contact Alicia.
As you are out shopping for school supplies, remember to pick up those
extra items to fill a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child that will
begin in November.
As we continue to work on Mission projects, remember we need your help.
There are many things that any one of you could do. If you would like to
help with our Mission Ministries, please feel free to call me.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child was again, a huge success here at
Ellendale. Who knew how fun it would be stuffing the shoeboxes
as full as you can and then it is amazing to see the things we
could come up with, such as books, socks, flashlights, watches,
etc. I can see the eyes of these children lighting up when they
open our shoeboxes. Our goal was 75 and I know we went over that
amount. I am waiting for the numbers from BUMC. Thank you so
much for your participation. The boxes were all well put
together and had everything they needed,. If you are tracking
your box or hear from the recipient, please let me know.
